Fashion: How to Add Some Flower Power to Your Wardrobe

You know what they say, April showers bring May flowers. I love flowers, from simple tulips to the ubiquitous wedding flowers, peonies. When it comes to my wardrobe, I am very particular about the floral designs. I typically like florals on my clothes when there is an element of black (such as in most of the designs here) or soft, feminine pieces. I don’t feel like they have to be reserved for warmer weather, and I love that they are trending for fall and winter as we’ve seen on many runways from the most recent F/W 2015 collections. Since it’s spring (in some parts of the world) and the ’70s vibe is trending, you will find plenty of floral pieces in shops. Here are some of my current favorite floral fashion pieces.

I love the soft feminine colors of this maxi dress, the Spell Boho Blossom. I think the dress speaks for itself, so I would style it differently and wear it with my brown Sam Edelman Gigi sandals (a warm-weather staple) and some delicate jewelry.

I love the bold red color color of this blouse. It looks great with the denim shorts as a more casual outfit, but you could easily pair it with a black pencil skirt to dress it up for a date night or to wear to the office. Since the color and print are so bold, you don’t need to wear it with jewelry, but it would do well with some delicate gold or silver pieces.

The floral details in this romper are reminiscent of a tropical island, but the style of the romper makes it so that you can wear it on a night out on any town. I would probably add a blazer, some jewelry and black heels if I were going that route. Otherwise, keep it casual with flat sandals.

I love the way this jacquard floral skirt is styled here. The cut is great and I love the peek-a-boo black material to break up the bold floral design.

This is pretty sleeveless top can be worn alone or paired with a denim jacket and white denim jeans or a black blazer for a dressier look. I love the abstract and water-color effect of the design.

Obviously, I love florals made of chiffon material and the high neck of this dress gives it an elevated look. I would pair it with different boots (I don’t mind the high boot look, but not this style). You could also wear it with tights and black platform heels.

This bra is so pretty, you could wear it with a sheer white v-neck t-shirt (if you so dare) or just wear it underneath a very basic uniform outfit and know you have a pretty secret hiding beneath.

I just purchased this pajama pant at a steal ($4.48!!) and I am loving it. I thought it was on sale for $7.50 until I got to the register and it rang up for less (bonus!!!).

Do you like florals? What kind of floral items are in your wardrobe? Do you wear them year-round or reserve them for warm-weather wear or maybe just as vacation pieces?
