Soul {Food For Thought} Sunday

{Lake Michigan}

There are always going to be people who will try to bring you down, even those who are closest to you. Just remember that it’s not about you, but a reflection on their own thoughts. If it gets to be too much, then know you have the power to step away. It’s not worth having negative people in your life. Have faith in yourself and follow your guts, more than likely it will lead you in the right direction. Even if you can’t see the forest for the trees. You are enough and your dreams matter. As someone once told me, “It’s none of your business what other people think of you.” Word.

“Don’t let anyone rob you of your imagination, your creativity, or your curiosity.

It’s your place in the world; it’s your life.

Go on and do all you can with it, and make it the life you want to live.”

    I agree with you here. There will always be negative people around who drain you of your enthusiasm and energy. Stay away! Sometimes it hurts, but it’s necessary.

  2. I agree about the people who drain your energy and creativity. I chalk it up to misunderstanding: The box I fit in is just wrong for them somehow:?

    1. That could be true, Myra, but I just wish people would just let me be sometimes. What business do any of us have in interfering with each other’s creativity and energy? I just try to remember that it really is none of my business what other people think of me. I just need to keep doing what I think is right for me and what makes me happy:) Like we all should:))

      1. I agree, Lourdes. Everyone has an opinion and some people just have to express theirs at the expense of others. Most of them do not realize that they are offending or hurting another person. I have come to realize this only since I started writing. Once I have put something in print, people take it one way or another-not necessarily the way I meant it. However; that is what art is-interpretation. I like to think about it that way. If there were not grey areas there would be no room for interpretation…Does that make sense?
